The mission of the Knowledge Effect is "To recognize that alcohol,
tobacco and other drug abuse is a serious social and public health issue
that when addressed will create a climate of healthiness and community
wellness for all of Louisiana."
The Knowledge Effect is under the umbrella of the SPF-SIG grant that was
awarded to the Lafayette Coalition to Prevent Substance Abuse
and it strives to bring awareness to the Lafayette
parish concerning the use and abuse of substances in the community. This
website is a resource for parents, youth, and community members looking
for information, for positive and healthy events in the community, and for
a way to get involved in the effort to make Lafayette a healthier place
to live.
The Orange Ninjas are the coalition's mascots, combating
substance abuse in Lafayette with their stellar ninja skills. Keep
your eye out...you never know when you'll see an Orange Ninja around!
